Jimmy Snyder

Inducted into the Hall of fame in 1997

Jimmy Snyder won the Chicago Armory & Riverview Midget Championships in 1937, the same year he set a New Track Record for the Indianapolis 500. It was his 3rd year at the Brickyard.
In 1939 Snyder placed 2nd in the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race and won the pole with another new track record.

Compared to Bob Swanson by many, Snyder was in big demand by midget promoters as a drawing card for their programs because of his success at Indianapolis.
Jimmy was killed in minor midget event at Cahokia, Illinois in 1939 while helping out the promoter by appearing.
