National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame

Mike McGreevy

Inducted into the Hall of fame in 1987

The 1965 and 1966 USAC National Midget Champion stood 5’1” tall and with his explosive driving style earned the nickname “Dyna-Mike” from his many fans. He was a great ambassador of the sport, attending fan club meetings and always making himself available to the kids who could identify with him because of his small size.
McGreevy won the Bay Cities Racing Association midget title in 1958, 1960 and 1962 as well as the BCRA

Indoor crown in 1965, the year he was given a ride in the Kenyon Brothers midget when Mel was injured in a big car at Langhorne, PA.
Mike drove midgets for some of the top owners of Indianapolis cars, but was never able to get a good Speedway ride. Such was not the story in the small cars. Among his owners were Al Dean, Myron Caves, Dick and Owen Kincaid and Howard Linne.
Among his 33 USAC career midget feature wins were the “Hut Hundred” in 1968 and the “Night Before the 500” in 1967.
McGreevy remained in top form until he retired a year after his car owner, Ed Lark, died of a heart attack. He married Ed’s widow, Betty, and together they raise horses in Florida.
